Grow With Us

Continued learning opportunities, mentorship and training, and an open collaborative culture empowers interns and new grads to have an immediate impact at HRT.

Summer Internships

Across our global internships, students work on real projects in collaboration with experienced mentors and build their knowledge and skills through varied learning opportunities. From NYC to Singapore, interns can also look forward to a packed social calendar that takes advantage of all the city has to offer.

Winter Internships

Our winter internships offer students a focused introduction to quantitative trading through hands-on projects, technical learning, and close mentorship. Designed for those early in their exploration of the field, these short-term programs provide a meaningful glimpse into life and work at HRT.

Full-time Roles for Graduating Students

If you’re graduating from a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program in 2026, consider one of our full-time roles. New hires are immersed in a robust training program that lets them hit the ground running on their new team.

What perks are available to interns?

Interns enjoy fully-paid housing, travel allowances, office amenities like an on-site gym and game room, chef-prepared breakfast and lunch, dinner stipends, and hands-on professional development opportunities.

But the internship experience expands far beyond the walls of our office — we want our interns to truly get to know their homes for the summer! Enjoy a vibrant social calendar of unforgettable events, from sporting events to food tours to live theater.

What’s the difference between an Algorithm Engineer and an Algorithm Developer?

At a high level, Algorithm Engineers are responsible for making the Algo team’s research tools and trading platform powerful, flexible, fast, and easy to use. In order to do this, AEs and SWEs work closely with Algo Developers to understand their needs.

Algorithm Developers build and maintain the models that drive our trading, working hand in hand with Algo Engineers to help test and deploy their strategies. Algorithm Developers rely on a mix of quantitative (math, stats, data analysis) and technical (C++/Python programming) skills in researching, backtesting, and monitoring new strategies.
